Knee Support
TrailMed K-Tape is a fantastic tool for providing support and pain relief for patellofemoral and anterior knee pain, particularly for athletes such as cyclists, runners, and walkers. This taping method can help alleviate discomfort and provide stability for various knee-related injuries and conditions, enabling you to maintain peak performance and reduce the risk of further injury. It is especially effective for conditions such as patellar tendonitis, runner's knee (patellofemoral pain syndrome) and general knee pain and strain.
Follow these simple steps to tape your knee:
Clean and Dry: Ensure the skin around your kneecap and the front of your knee is clean and dry to help the tape adhere better and stay in place longer.
Measure and Cut: Measure and cut a straight piece of K-Tape to apply horizontally across the patellar tendon, just below the kneecap.
Anchor and Apply: Holding both ends of the tape, apply a moderate stretch (around 50%) and anchor the middle below your kneecap on the patellar tendon. Apply one end horizontally around the knee, securing it to the side of the knee, not behind it, and repeat with the other end of the tape.
Smooth the Tape: Ensure all tape edges are securely adhered to your skin. Gently press down the tape to ensure it sticks well and check comfort by gently bending and straightening your knee to ensure the tape feels supportive without restricting your movement.
