TrailMed | K-Tape | Support | Shin Splints

TrailMed K-Tape is highly effective for providing support and pain relief for shin splints, particularly beneficial for athletes such as cyclists, runners, and walkers. This taping method can help alleviate discomfort, reduce inflammation, and provide stability for the shin area, enabling you to maintain peak performance and reduce the risk of further injury. TrailMed K-Tape can effectively support various shin-related conditions, including shin splints (medial tibial stress syndrome), stress fractures, and general shin pain.

Follow These Simple Steps to Tape Your Shins

  1. Prepare the Tape: Cut two strips of TrailMed K-Tape, each about 12-14 inches long. Round the corners of the tape to prevent peeling.

  2. Anchor Strip: Peel the backing off one strip and apply it vertically along the shin, starting just above the ankle and extending up towards the knee. Rub the tape to activate the adhesive.

  3. Support Strip: Peel the backing off the second strip and apply it vertically along the shin, parallel to the first strip. This second strip should be slightly offset to provide comprehensive coverage. Rub the tape to ensure it adheres well.

  4. Tension Strip: For additional support, cut a shorter strip of tape (around 6-8 inches) and apply it horizontally across the shin, crossing the first two strips at the most painful area. Apply the tape with moderate tension to provide extra stability.

  5. Final Adjustments: Ensure the tape is securely in place and make any necessary adjustments to ensure comfort and proper support.

  6. Rub the Tape: Rub the tape gently to activate the adhesive and ensure it sticks well to your skin.
